Just keep it in a well ventilated area and put a fan on it. If you are under warranty, you don’t have to pay, but NEVER buy an intercooler, they can melt your consoles fans.

it is supposed to have at least 4 inches of clearance around each side to allow good air flow. And never lay it on the carpet or floor. the carpet/floor has more dust on it than any other part of the house and your xbox will suck it into the vents and dust can cause many problems and make your xbox stop working.

you want to let it have some breathing room- just dont keep it in a little shelf with only one way out, the hot air can stay inside that space making the xbox warmer. you also dont want to use it that much. instead if playing for 5 hours straight , play every other hour.

put a fan next to it and blow air at it.
keep your house cooler then 70 degrees all the time.
don’t play for over 8 hours at a time.

if you fallow all of these i guarantee that it wont overheat!

You are getting that error because you should have sent it to Microsoft instead of trying to fix it yourself!

They sell this cooler called THE INTERCOOLER 360. There’s two one you put on the back of the XBOX and it get powered by the XBOX power chord, DONT GET THAT ONE!!

Get the INTERCOOLER 360 that has it own power source, it helps prevent the RED RINGS OF DEATH.

It would help.

However it is possible that it is overheating due to dust gathering. Blow gently to shift dust and leave it in an open space (less likely to over heat than if it were cooped up)

Yea, I had the same problem with mine. I guess when xbox released the 360 they were trying to get It out the same time that the ps3 came out, but when they did that, it wasn’t finished. So everyone is having problems. But you can send it in and they will send you a new one. That’s what I did
