ive just bought a xbox 360, i needed some tips for keeping my xbox cool and preventing it from overheating. At the moment it is roughly 4-5cm from the wall which is at the back and the same for the left side of the console, the right side has enough space i just wanted to know if the other sides are well ventilated.

well man xbox 360 don’t really overheat much these days my friend and i played assassins creed for about 5 hours and everything was fine. Just make sure it is off the floor if you have carpet and just put one of those mini fans behind it to keep it cool

Make sure it has room, i know that sounds obvious, but many people just put there console anywhere and dont care. You should have it at least 10cm from the wall, and i personally think putting it horizontal gives it more chance of NOT overheating, as it blows cool air out the bottom of the console. Also putting it this way prevents you games from being scratched as it cant fall over. Lastly dont put any other piece of equipment on top of it or under it.

keep it in a well ventilated area. make sure it there is nothing around it, make about a 10 cm radius around it. Also try not to play it for longer then 4 hours. Make sure it is up and off the ground. If you are really concerned about it purchase a fan for it, i have one and it works great

dont play it too much everyday make a schedule of how much to play each day. no more than 2hrs 30min. each day if u play everyday

Buy a fan attachment for the back of the xbox 360 ie: the inter cooler, most work and some have the added benefit of extra usb, VGA, and audio outputs on them as well, you can buy them form about £20, I have one and routinely play for extended lengths of time (5-6 hrs)

don’t play for longer than 4 hours straight and leave in a open area that’s not too close to walls or other things. and if your really worried about it, try putting a fan next to it.
