How long should I play my Xbox 360 to prevent overheating/hardware problems?

<< Uncategorized  Uncategorized >>

I recently had another unit shipped for free, my old Xbox 360 had some hardware problems because of overheating

I’m not sure how long I should play it before letting it cool off.

Since I’ve gotten it back I’ve cut back to playing 1.5 to 2 hours at a time, then I let it cool off for 2 to 3 hours before playing. I also started keeping the temp of my room a lot cooler.

Is this a good idea to prevent overheating?

if you have a new unit play on! there is no limit of how long they should be on for I barely turn mine off and it’s pretty warm in these parts. when you are not actually playing the games go to the dashboard so the disc isn’t spinning and they seem to run cooler when they are just sitting idle.. Have fun thats why it was built if you get another over heater thats just bad luck..

A good idea is to put a fan next to the system and leave it on so you can play longer. I do that to my DVD and it works fine now.

12 hours is about right time and also to stop it overheating unplug it from plug socket when finished. On the weekends i normally play it nearly 24 hours
